Legendary Canon EF Lenses
Canon's world-renowned EF lenses lead the industry with technical achievements like the elimination of camera shake, smooth operation and unparalleled sharpness and color reproduction. The Digital Rebel XTi accepts all of these lenses, more than 50 in total, from ultra wide-angle to super telephoto and everything in between, including fish-eye, macro and tilt-shift lenses.
The EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, included with the Rebel XTi/EF-S lens kits, is especially compact and lightweight, offering solid value. It covers the standard zoom range of approx. 28-90 mm (in 35mm format) with smooth operation and superb resolution.
Canon Speedlites
Canon Speedlites offer professional-quality illumination for virtually any subject. Although simple to operate even for beginners, they are sophisticated tools; the more you know about the system, the more you can do with it. For full featured flash photography, the Digital Rebel XTi is compatible with Canon's entire line of EX-series Speedlites (580EX II, 430EX and 220EX plus Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX and Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX for close-ups). You can also link several off-camera flashes to fire together wirelessly, with the optional Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2.
The Canon Rebel XTi features Canon's E-TTL II exposure control with the 580EX II and 430EX Speedlites. This "smarter" new E-TTL II system helps ensure that, even in situations with highly reflective subjects or backgrounds or when shooting in most other similarly difficult lighting situations, the image will be optimally exposed.

More Optional Accessories
Designed exclusively for the Digital Rebel XTi, Battery Grip BG-E3 holds two NB-2LH Battery Packs for approximately double the shooting time, and can also operate on a single Battery Pack. The vertical shutter release makes shooting with the camera in a vertical position just as comfortable as shooting horizontally.
With optional Wireless Remote Controller RC-1 or RC-5, the shutter of the camera can be released wirelessly from up to 5 yards away. For added convenience, the technology is available in all shooting modes. The camera also features a remote socket to accommodate the optional Remote Switch RS-60E3.
